José’s Double Agave Paloma

Why double agave? Because tequila is made from the agave plant, and this paloma has both tequila and agave syrup.

Plus, it’s a nice fresh drink to round out your summer cookout or to enjoy for any happy hour!

We had the privilege of visiting The Grand at The Moon Palace a few months ago for a much needed and long overdue adult-only trip. It was to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and we went with one of our bestest couple friends.

As well as from drinking rum from a fresh coconut (true story!), we found a drink we all adored.

paloma

One of us ordered a paloma (can’t remember who, the details got fuzzy after awhile). It was so good, eventually we were all ordering them. At the pool. At dinner. At the rooftop bar.

But we had really no idea what was in them except grapefruit juice and tequila.

Upon our return home (to the frozen and cold Michigan in February), we decided to figure out the recipe and make our own palomas.

This recipe is the result. Enjoy it with delicious and easy guacamole or homemade pico de gallo!
